1 · Your chart at a glance
Born on 14 May 1988 at 15:30 — the twenty-ninth day of the third lunar month, in the hour of the Monkey. Your four pillars read 戊辰 · 丁巳 · 己巳 · 壬申: a Yang Earth Dragon year, a Yin Fire Snake month, a Yin Earth Snake day, and a Yang Water Monkey hour.
Three things stand out before any detail. First, Earth and Fire split the chart between them — three characters each — and since Fire feeds Earth in the generating cycle, the Day Master is nourished from every side: this chart has a clear spine, and it is production and care rather than cutting or contention. Second, two Snakes (巳) stand in the month and day branches; the Snake carries hidden Fire, Earth and Metal, and doubled it concentrates the early-summer heat at the chart's centre, making the working life and the inner life unusually of a piece. Third, against all that warmth the chart is short of exactly the elements that would temper it: Wood appears nowhere among the eight characters — its only trace is a hidden stem buried in the Dragon year branch — and Water appears just once, the lone 壬 stem, which is why that single stream carries more weight here than any other character.
The pillars divide the life story the classical way: the Year Pillar is the backdrop — family, early environment, how the world first receives you. The Month Pillar is the working life — parents, career, the season your Day Master must survive in. The Day Pillar is you and your closest relationships. The Hour Pillar is the later chapters — ambitions, projects, children, legacy. Everything that follows in this report is an unpacking of this one page.
A note on method, because you should be able to check us: these pillars were calculated from your birth date and time with a deterministic calendar engine, and every claim in the chapters ahead traces back to the eight characters above. Where a traditional reading and a plain observation disagree, we say so.

2 · Your Day Master
Your Day Master — the stem of the Day Pillar, the chart's centre of gravity — is 己, Yin Earth. In the classical image, 己 is the garden and the field: earth not as monument but as soil — the ground that receives seed, water and waste alike and quietly turns them into growth. Where Yang Earth (戊) is the mountain, admired from a distance and moved by nothing, Yin Earth is the soil underfoot, defined not by what it displays but by what it makes possible — and that distinction runs through this whole reading, because a field is judged by what grows in it.
The strengths are the ones people feel rather than notice. A 己 Day Master tends to hold and to nourish: it remembers what everyone needs, absorbs the friction in a room, and produces — steadily, without theatre — the conditions in which other people's work succeeds. In work, the pattern is the cultivator's: the person who takes a neglected patch — a team, a project, a household — and makes it fertile again. Patience here is not passivity; soil works constantly, just underground. Chapters 9 and 11 trace where this has historically paid off in your chart, and where the current luck pillar is pointing it.
The blind spots are the same soil, seen from the other side. A field has no fence: the absorptive quality that makes this chart generous can leave it boundless — everyone's water drains one way, until the ground is waterlogged and nothing, the owner included, can grow in it. The second pattern the tradition warns 己 about is hardening. This chart's soil is baked by three Fires and two summer Snakes; earth that is never loosened dries into a crust, patience curdles into stubbornness, and "I can take it" becomes the reason nothing changes. Your Five Elements balance (Chapter 5) shows why: Wood — the element whose roots break soil open and give it direction — appears nowhere on the surface of this chart, and the balancing suggestions in Chapter 8 are built around supplying it deliberately: structure, edges, and the occasional no.
Season matters as much as substance. You were born in 巳月, the first month of summer, when Fire is at its height and Earth — fed by Fire — comes into season alongside it. The classical reading is not "unproven" but "well-fed, verging on over-fed": this Day Master does not have to fight for support, because support arrives from the Month Pillar's Fire, from two Snake branches, and from the Dragon year's Earth itself. Chapter 7 weighs the Day Master's strength formally; the short version is that this is a strong Day Master whose task is not gathering strength but spending it well — and whose allies tend to arrive the way rain arrives to a field: through the Hour Pillar's single stream of Water, late, quietly, and worth more than everything else in the chart.
